I am writing to let you know I need your help.
As most of you know, my brother Lee retired from the Navy with 26 yrs service, and he was in E.O.D. (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) translated as the
Bomb Squad. He is currently working for a company A-T solutions that works directly with the military and Homeland Security and local Police & Fire depts- to train in the latest techniques for safety. Lee is currently in Iraq, training the military in the latest info about the I.E.D's (improvised explosive devices).
If you saw the movie "The Hurt Locker" those were EOD technicians depicted in the movie and the job they do is exactly as depicted- find bombs and disarm them. Sometimes it doesn't go as planned and people get hurt or worse- die. It is a very dangerous job.
His company has a foundation for the EOD technicians wounded by these IED's. It is the Wounded EOD Warrior foundation. They provide financial assistance, medical and emotion support to the member and the family after an injury. They rely on donations to help assist these wounded EOD warriors.
Each year they hold different fund raisers, Golf tournaments, concerts and a Polar Bear Plunge. Each year my brother Lee does the Polar Bear Plunge, but since he is away, I told him I would go in his place. It is the least I can do, sacrifice a little body heat for a good cause... The plunge is Feb 27th, in Fredericksburg, VA and we will be plunging into the Rappahannock river.

I need to get as many folks as possible to sponsor me- it can be as little as $1.00 or as much as you like. I am doing the plunge- even if I only raise $10.00-
but won't you help me raise more for these brave soldiers.
