Fast forward thru life... with pics

Well it seems I have too many weeks to account for so I will give you the SPEED version...
When last we left off- I was in W.V helping out my friend Sondra after she fell. That was July 13th. Since then:

The Annual Hoedown Gathering of quilters at Howdy's house. It is a long weekend of sewing and eating and gabbing & shopping... folks come from VA, ME, NH, CT, NJ & PA. We always have a blast when this group of friends gathers. Can't wait for the next one.

The line up of the usual suspects...

When I returned from this I started feeling under the weather and it took a few weeks to get myself back in gear.

I had to have some quilts finished before I left for my trip. I had to have 3 baby quilts delivered. so here are pics.

and for my niece Mallory, she has the nursery done in monkeys for her baby
Mason's quilt
Mason's monkey quilt- I delivered it to Mason in TX.

and for Gina, my all-time favorite hairdresser back in Oklahoma- she needed a quilt for her sister Charlene. So I had started this one in W.V. as my challenge for the Hoedown and took it with me for Gina.

I will be making another quilt- not sure yet what style- but will send it back to OKLA to be raffled off for Gina. Shortly before I left she had a car wreck and is out of work while her arm heals from surgery- she put it thru the drivers window when the car rolled.... and the fund raising continues for her.

I left Aug 11th headed to Kansas for the family reunion, riding with my sister Cheryl. My daddy is from Kansas, and we stay with his sister Dolores and her family. Cheryl and I got to stay in the travel trailer outside... wasn't a bad stay- had AC and Electric... I enjoyed it.

while I was on this trip- it was like the storms followed me. I left NJ and it started raining there. I arrived in Kansas and this big storm blew in and finally gave them some MUCH needed rain. Then I went to Okla and it rained there and followed me to Texas. This is the first rain they have had in months- so YOU ARE WELCOME!

the Storm in Kansas- I loved the view.

Left Kansas and went to Okla on Aug 16th, I stayed a week and then went to Tx for 2 weeks.
I will share my OK time in the next post.

While I was in Tx, I was able to make it to the North Texas State Fair & Rodeo. I wanted to see the Max Stalling concert. So I enjoyed the rodeo and such before the great music started.

These are the little ones lined up for the Mutton Bustin'- too cute to watch. All under the age of 5... But they were serious riders!

and then the calf chase. where they tie a ribbon on a calfs tail and set him loose in the arena with a shitload of kids- all trying to catch the calf and grab the ribbon. This was so funny to watch- some of these kids could hardly walk in the dirt in the arena.

And then Max Stalling came out and the evening ended with great music.

I must say- I sure miss seeing men in hats. It was so nice to be in a crowd of cowboys.

I was able to spend some nice days with my brother Shane and his family. His daughter babe just turned 1 and she is such a cutie.

I was able to enjoy time with his kids and grandkids and have some quality time with his wife Rhonda. i really appreciated all of their hospitality.

But this one is a heart stealer.. she was so much fun to be around. Such a sweet girl.

Enjoyed the time with Ruger, Erin, Belle and Reese. By the time I left Shane's and headed to Nanda's I picked up a case of strep throat- so I was able to stay away from all the kids- only thing is I missed Shane's birthday party, and that was the reason I planned the trip during those dates. Such a bummer. But I sure enjoyed the time I did have with him and the family.

I was able to spend an afternoon with Mom & Dad and did make it out to church with Dad & Nanda.

I went out to Nanda's next and will post it next coz it was really very interesting....
Life, sex and death ??? really....

Later Darlin'
